Once, an unknown 17 year old won the Teen Mr New South Wales bodybuilding competition in Sydney Australia. The same day he won the Overall Mr New South Wales, becoming the youngest person ever to do so. This achievement has not been matched, or bettered, by anyone. His name is John Terilli.
John went on to win the best in Australia and subsequently the Amateur Mr Universe title. He turned professional and built an impressive career and reputation in the sport, culminating in becoming the first, and only, Australian to ever win the Professional Mr. Universe title, which he achieved in England in 1994.
Ten years later, with a family, a mortgage and a gym, John suffered a severe rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder. Unable to exercise he battled weight gain and a long rehabilitation schedule. This set in motion a series of events which lead to him reinventing himself and continuing a 30 year dream of becoming a household name.
"Rebuilding a Champion" follows John's story from the injury and reconstructive surgery, through the long rehabilitation, and eventually the re-attaining of the body he once had. All this while formulating diets and exercises to build a package worthy of public recognition.
