I am on a mission to lose up to sixty pounds. I will not resort to an eating disorder and I am going to try and do it by good old fashioned exercise and watching what I eat! A lot of people have been asking for my specific plan, so here it is!!!!
I am going on a Juice fast for three to five days first. each day i will have approximately
1 C OJ
3-4 Cranberry juice
1 banana
1/2 an apple
1 necatarine
a couple of handfuls of other fruits here and there all in the form of juice. I will do that for like 3-5 days. (if i can! I am hating it!) and when my stomach shrinks and all the toxins are out of my body i am going to start incorporating real food back into my diet. I will exclude any white flour, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial processed things like that. I am going to try and eat 40 percent ish raw... and then chicken and things like that. I also want to only eat whole grains and if i have bread i want to make it homemade to eliminate the preservatives. Just more natural foods.
Right now i have a coca cola addiction i am battling (hence the fast) and i food addiction that i am trying to overcome. it is all i can do right now not to go to the store and buy mac and cheese and all other kinds of crap. or mcdonalds. AHHH!!!
i plan on going from my previous diet of fast food, crap and pizza and three to four cokes a day to no cokes, and about 1200 calories a day until i lose my sixty lbs!
after my body adjusts to the diet, i will start exercising with yoga, pilates, walking and some interval training...
and maybe later i will add weights.

This is my first video in 2007, and I return to the kitchen in making my favorite new dessert, a low carb non-bake cheesecake. This cheesecake is better than any no-bake cheesecake mix that you would buy in the store. You have to try this one.

CREAMY NO-BAKE CHEESECAKE
1 packet unflavored gelatin
3/4 cup vanilla flavored sugar free syrup
24 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
"Graham Cracker" Pie Crust *
Prepare crust according to recipe for baked crust. In a small pot, sprinkle gelatin over 1/2 cup syrup and let soften 5 minutes. Heat and stir over low heat to dissolve gelatin completely. Beat cream cheese with remaining 1/4 cup syrup until creamy. Gradually beat in gelatin mixture. Chill until slightly thickened, about 1 hour, gently whisking occasionally to prevent lumps. Fold in whipped cream. Pour into crust and chill until set. Mine looked set after 2 hours, but I recommend chilling at least 6 hours.
Makes 12 servings
Freezing not recommended
Per Serving: 368 Calories; 37g Fat; 7g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 3g Net Carbs
"GRAHAM CRACKER" PIE CRUST
3 ounces almond flour, 3/4 cup
3 tablespoons flax meal
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda
Mix dry ingredients in a small bowl. Add Splenda to melted butter; pour over dry ingredients. Mix well and spread in 9" pie plate or springform pan. Bake at 375º about 10-12 minutes until set and lightly browned. Cool, then fill pie. For baked pies, chill unbaked crust 1 hour before filling and baking.

aka how one Iowa guy lost over 200 pounds and gained his life back. I can not say enough about how positively the Atkins Diet and low carb in general has been for me. I went from a 429 pound guy who could barely make it up a flight steps to a guy running half marathons and rejoining the National Guard. My health is fantastic, and my blood work (cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, heart) could not be better.

I'm going to post a video every Saturday to track my weight loss progress. I am on the Atkins diet and eating basically no carbs, it sucks! I lost 50 lbs in 3 months doing this same diet back in 1998. I started this diet on July 17th of 2008 and this video was filmed on July 19th. Good luck to me! Leave me a comment if you want.

In this cooking video, I detail how to make one of my staples of the diet -- low carb fried chicken. You don't have to give up the joy of fried chicken, and contrary to low fat diets, you can eat the skin too! I have fried chicken at least once a week almost. Chicken has a great amount of protein as well as delicious fat in the skin. I display 2 of the 3 methods that are among the acceptable coatings for chicken or chicken-fried foods (like Country Fried Steaks):
* Parmesan Cheese - Induction friendly
* Carbquik breading
* Crushed Pork Rinds. ** not shown Just run the pork rinds through a food processor to crush the rinds into smaller pieces. You would be surprised by how tasty this is, and how little pork rinds flavor there is remaining. I had intended to show this method as well, but Wal-mart wasn't selling them anymore.
Here is the recipe for the breading:
* 1 cup of Carbquik flour
* 2 TBS Paprika
* 1 TBS Black Pepper
* Dashes of Cayenne Pepper, Chili Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Poultry Seasoning

Today's episode I deal with the one of the most common questions people ask me after hearing of my 200 pound weight loss. That is, "do you have much problems with loose skin?" In the end, I have to admit that I do have a bit of loose skin (I affectionately & sometime not so affectionately my "SharPei") around my torso and legs, but it could be much worse. I could have the sheets of skin some dieters (more often low Calorie big losers) have or even worse be my original weight still living in fear of loose skin. There are times that I actually like my stretchmarks as they server as reminders of what might be if I think I can lax up. It also serves as a talking point like my pathetic driver's license does for people looking for hope, but most days I am just thankful for shirts.
There are other things that are claimed to help, but I have not tried. Cocoa Butter and Mederma are both used by pregnant women to ease the appearance of stretchmarks. Additionally, I believe the content of this Diet helps in maintaining the elasticity due to protein and fat being featured. The body does not cannibalize its own resources like on other diets, and many report their skin looks as good and clear as it ever had. Good skin health implies good skin elasticity to respond to the weight loss as well.

To summarize the above link, there is no problem with loose skin, just a body fat percentage problem. I am at 11-12% body fat, so maybe I need to drop another 2-3 percent yet too. In either case, plastic surgery may be for some people, but it's not for me.

2 TBS butter
1/4 cup natural chunky peanut butter
1/4 cup Splenda
1 cup chocolate whey protein powder
1/4 cup Da Vinci SF Vanilla syrup
1/4 cup Salted nuts (optional)
* Melt the Butter, and mix with Splenda.
* Add the Peanut Butter to the mix until smooth.
* Mix protein powder until crumbly
* Add SF syrup, and the mix should turn glossy and much easier to form into 2 mini loaf pans
* Freeze mixture for 1 hour, and it should be able to be eaten.
