This was the first cartoon I'd ever done so forgive the low production values. The other cartoons also have low production values; you just don't have to forgive them. Won an Alabama Citation for Excellence at the 2005 Sidewalk Film Festival. Requires QuickTime 7. English people, forgive my dodgy voices, especially the narration.(more)(less)

I've already covered the 80's in a six part video series (or more parts if I get enough requests!) and it was so popular that I've now gone back a decade to bring you this.
Including Scooby Doo, Wacky Races, Hong Kong Phooey, Godzilla, Fat Albert and the original Spider-Man cartoon, plus cartoons from Japan (Battle of the Planets) and the United Kingdom (Mr. Benn, Jamie and the Magic Torch).
If your favourite is missing, let me know and I'll do a Part 2!
Next up, the 90's!
BTW, I know that Scooby Doo and Spider-Man actually started in the late sixties and NOT the seventies, but to be frank, no compliation of 70's cartoons would be complete without Scoob and Spidey!

Fritz the Cat again? Well... for one thing I was using those DVDs as testing grounds...yay they worked. And second, well...
Fritz the Cat was the film that made me think about how we need to go and live life to the fullest (and the film that introduced me to cartoon sex0r, but that's obvious). Well, lately I've had a lot of problems in my life that I have no reason to discuss here, but those problems have made me.. well, scared to live my life to the fullest. Trapped in a mental prison. And then I saw the Gorillaz "Feel Good Inc." video.. it was just like that. And then I watched both Fritz the Cat movies again and saw Fritz as someone also trapped...thinking he can escape through sex and drugs, but he's really only trapping himself more, and getting mixed up with things he shouldn't. Some of you might say this is too heavy an interpretation, but I've read the waaayyyy early Fritz comics by R. Crumb... before they were real sex-heavy. Fritz started out as I'm guessing a reflection of Crumb's own disillusionment, waxing poetic on life in a way that is considered pretentious nowdays... I guess Crumb got disillusioned with his disillusionment, and Fritz (along with his other works) got more heavy with biting satire and vulgarity. Ironically, reading Fritz's "death" comic... in the course of the story he wasn't killed for making the movie at all! he was killed for being a stuck-up, mysogynist brute, which is EXACTLY what he was in the previous comic "Fritz the No-Good" (part of that became the last part of the film with the extremists, except in the comic Fritz is actually with them instead of realising these people are wrong. I guess Crumb wanted Fritz to be a jerkass. O_o). Well, Fritz is neither dead or alive if you take into account the "Nine Lives..." film.
Where was I? Oh yes, the video here... well, despite the protests of the creator himself, I think the Fritz movies DO capture Fritz well, as both h*rny jerk and disillusioned poet... and the moments of the latter are what's used in this video. Fritz is trying to escape his dreary existence, but gets mixed up with SO many wrong things (things which are used to represent the evil raps from the "inc"... the evil revolutionaries, Nazis(!)... Why did I use the nearly last past of the second film at the beginning? Because Fritz's expressions there reminded me of 2D in the original video, trying to convince himself to "Feel good". And the riot speech mirrors 2D with the megaphone... yeah, you know what I'm getting at. And the "Windmill, windmill..." parts are paired with Fritz's two moments of clarity in the first film.
I Forgot to put a logo and credits on this... sorry if that makes this jarring.
Fritz is owned by R.Crumb, even though Crumb don't want him no more. The films are owned by MGM. And the Gorillaz and owned by Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn. Please don't sue me.(more)(less)
