They were glued wrong and the colors didnt match! YIKES! LOL! FAQ:
Q: Will you make me a tail?
A: No, I cannot make anyone a tail. That is why I made this video. So you can =)
Q: Where did you get your monofin and how much did it cost?
A: I got my Finis Tempo monofin online for about $50. Try ebay or searching on google.
Q: How did you make your top?
A: I covered an old swim top with material.
Q: How do you get the monofin in and out of the tail?
A: You can either leave the bottom open and extend your fabric a few inches past the monofin, or just roll up the monofin and work it in and out of the tail.
Q: What is the material called and where do you get it?
A: It is just swimwear/dance material. You can find it at craft stores that carry a variety of fabrics. It comes in all kinds of colors and designs. Mine happens to be a teal hologram material. Jo~Ann fabrics is where I go. You can also go to AC Moore arts and crafts.
Q: How much is the material?
A: Depends on which material you want. At JoAnns it is $15 a yard and 2 yards will make a tail.
DISCLAIMER: Always use proper supervision when swimming with your tail. Swimming with the legs bound together is very dangerous and should only be attempted by trained persons.

For my skin i used Maybelline New York, Dream Matte mousse in Ivory. There are lots of different shades.
For my mascara i used Rimmel "Extra Super Lash" in black.
At 0.27 i started using a Kohl pencil eye liner in "Kingfisher" but just shop around until you find the right blue for you.
At 0.42 i used Avon "big colour" eyeliner/shadow stick in "lilac ice"
My eyeshadow pallet was very cheap, from the "Colour institute". Just find a shadow that is a greeny blue and you will be fine.
At 1.41 i used Barry M, dazzle dust. (amazing colours) in electric pink. (the shade number has rubbed off my tub). It's expensive but it lasts YEARS!
At 2.04 i used Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner in shade 001 "intense black".
At 2.37 i used a kohl eye pencil in black, as long as its soft it should be fine to run along your lower lid.
At 2.47 i used a liquid glitter which i picked up somewhere. If you kind find anything like that try a liquid eyeshadow. This was only applied so the glitter would stick.
At 2.56 you guessed it. Thats the purpley pink glitter. Every mermaid needs some glitter.
At 3.34 that my little tray of nail gems. They are easy to find if you look in the right place. Go to nail salons, pound shops, etc. I've got a selection of colours and shapes but for this make up i used round, light pink gems. They are held on with the liquid glitter.
At the end i added in some personal touches. A few dots on the corners of my eyes and then added lip balm and drew a blue line onto the center of my lips with the eyeliner.
With big eyes try to keep your lips n*de so the attention will be drawn to your eyes rather than your lips. After all they are what you spent the most time on!
If you are lucky enough to have no eyebrows XD then paint them on in blue or pink, compliments the make up beautifully.
Extra bits just in case: My hair was made by stinamoo (just type stinamoo into google). It's not a wig. And they are not dreadfalls!

Okay, after filming the video, editing the video, uploading the video wrong, then having to go back and save it correctly ...Okay, after filming the video, editing the video, uploading the video wrong, then having to go back and save it correctly to upload it again. I think this time Aliel and I got it, and yes, the uploading of this video did indeed take two people.
Anyways, I finally took my tail for a test swim after I finished the sewing and the paint job. It still needs the dorsal fin but looks great anyway. I can't wait until it's finished completely. Aliel has a fin on the way and her videos will be posted here on youtube:
