RNTC congratulates SACOD with new website!

... Education Development Training RNTC SACOD Southern Africa Filmmakers ... From the 19th till the 21st of November, RNTC organised a 3-day 'Internet Production Pathway Workshop' for the Southern Africa Communication for Development (SACOD); a network of independent film and video producers, directors and distributors from the Southern African countries. A total of 10 active SACOD members from 7 different countries made their way to Johannesburg to add a new online dimension to their network. During the workshop, participants were trained to produce online content for their new website www.sacod.org.za, which was developed in collaboration with RNTC. Practical workshop such as 'writing for the internet', 'digital photography' and 'online video' resulted in a hands-on practical assignment. All workshop final products, will be published on the new website, which will be launched January 2008. In addition to these practical skills, the participants also established agreement on the 'style and focus' of the online content and on the editorial structure. This structure was considered of vital importance for further collaboration, as members of the SACOD network are geographically dispersed. The new virtual SACOD website will act as a place that speaks of the work of the organization, as well as provide a space to speak of members experiences and productions. As a network organization with members in 11 different countries, it can also function as a communication platform for it's members, future training and effective networking, taking away boundaries of place and time. Southern Africa Communications for Development (SACOD) is a network of independent film and video producers, directors and distributors from the Southern African countries. SACOD promotes and empowers the makers and distributors of films and videos to communicate development issues. RNTC is an independent, non-profit organisation providing knowledge and know-how in the field of broadcast media, development and education. RNTC is attached to Radio Netherlands Worldwide, the Dutch international broadcaster. (more)
